OTOMO is about supporting women by ensuring better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for garment workers in the developing countries in which we choose to operate. Just as important to us is keeping alive the slowly dying tradition of community based heritage craftsmanship and precious artisan skills in the ever-paced world of machines and materials. Over the past 13 years we have worked closely with small family owned and operated business run by women. We try to make a positive difference to the communities in which we work by encouraging an environment that supports women in business and their need to support their own families. This enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.
The collection is designed in Melbourne by a team of designers who have been a part of the Australian fashion industry for over 20 years.
Inspired and created by the traditional methods of the local artisans as well as using luxury ethical, sustainable & eco textiles such as bamboo, cotton, silk, linen and wool. Otomo styles are produced with a social and environmental conscience and are easy to wear and designed with the free-spirited woman of timeless style in mind.
